A look at Rocky
Our 20 week foetal morphology scan was today. Thankfully everything looks normal - as far as can be seen this early at any rate - which is a relief. Isabelle and Aidan both came. Isabelle seemed quite interested in everything, but I'm not sure how much she took in. I had warned her that the picture wouldn't be clear like on a tv. The whole concept of looking through a stomach into a baby (right into its bones!) is pretty wild for a four year old really! Yesterday we were looking at skeletons, and I think she remembered the spine when the ultrasonographer was checking Rocky's back for neural tube defects. Aidan got a bit restless, but seemed to enjoy himself nevertheless.
Rocky did everything that babies do in utero - kicked, turned, waved at big sister, showed us a lovely profile etc etc. We will get the films in the mail tomorrow or the next day. This time the scan was free! The 12 week one was $40. Apparently the funding of this procedure is a new thing.
