Turbine
Today we had a "free day", so I thought I would take the children up to the Brooklyn wind turbine for a picnic morning tea. It turned out to be perfect weather for it - still and sunny at the base of the turbine, yet windy enough higher up for the blades to be spinning. I was impressed at how well sign posted the drive there way - it's been about 1o years since I was there last so all I knew was that I needed to turn right at the Brooklyn lights.
Just us, a lone cyclist at the beginnning and a couple of men who turned up briefly at the end.
You can see the shadow of the turbine in the photo to the right - Isabelle is carrying the precious morning tea bag over to the seat in the background.
We also had a close-up view of the Karori Sanctuary's predator-proof fence.
