Zac
Zac Power is a big hit in our household. Aidan is the main consumer of all things Zac, but Isabelle enjoys the books as well.
Mostly I like the books - they get kids reading which is generally A Good Thing. Then I don't like the books, as I notice typos or repeated words in the obviously hurriedly published paperbacks that are cashing in on the wave of popularity. Then I like them again when Aidan brings them to me saying "Look Mum! A spelling mistake in my Zac Power book!".
And role modeling obviously works:
And once you're in spy mode - you see evidence everywhere.....

Lovely reading pics! Love the evidence...
Hi there!
As an editor who works on the Zac Power books, it's both lovely and mortifying to read your blog post.
I'm so pleased that Aidan is a fan, and positive feedback makes our jobs very fulfilling!
We of course make every effort to ensure that the books are free from errors, but things do slip past unnoticed at times. We do correct errors at reprint.
Perhaps Aidan has an editorial career ahead of him...
Happy reading to you all!
Hello Karri! Don't be too mortified - it's far easier to criticise than to do. And I'm pretty sure that there are typos galore in this blog!
I think why I liked that he picked them up was that it showed he was really reading the text, rather than skimming. When books are too hard for him, he tends to skim through them quickly (then return to them a few weeks later as his reading improves).
I'll show him your comment in the morning to prove that there are real people behind the books!
