Birthday
We are coming to the end of our local birthday season. Mine is in the middle of it all.
Since I appear so irregularly here, here is my 38th birthday self-portrait:
Here is my birthday cake!
A scene from my birthday lunch (cunningly foisted upon an innocent party in the guise of a playdate! ;-) )
My birthday dinner:
And my birthday chocolates (note the red and black one!)
And my funny hat: (actually number 2 of 3 I think).

More dancing
Some of the best toys are the cheapest. I found some colourful scarves at the Sallies for a few dollars. They have been very successful. They have been draped around bodies as clothes and wafted as dramatic play props. They have been worn as accessories to school and beyond. They have served as baby-carriers (mainly frontpacks) and baby sheets. And then there's the dancing!
Shake
Cleaning the toilet is not my favourite job. It has a kind of inherent yuck factor that I can't seem to shake by thoughts of practicality or bacterial counts.
However, while cleaning the toilet last weekend, I was very pleased to have a toilet to clean, and extremely pleased to pay rates for a working sewerage system.
Mother Nature sure knows how to focus the mind.
